Hof near Salzburg
Description of the coat of arms
This coat of arms features a red background and three-peaked hill in the foreground, with the centre taken up by a silver castle with a golden double-pitched roof, with each gable bearing a golden cross. Behind the roof are a silver tin tower with a pitched roof in gold, and behind these are two crossed, silver arrows pointing upward.
The castle with its tin tower was the seat of the Chirichpüchler family (later called Kirchpüchler) in the Wartenfels judicial region, which was situated on what today is Kirchbichl Farm in Hof near Salzburg. The crossed arrows symbolise the St Sebastian pilgrimages in the 16th century, which are evidenced elsewhere, and the archepiscopal hunting area.
Hof has had a parish coat of arms since 1978
